John Robert Herbeth

Monitoring and Results Management Officer

John Herbeth is a highly skilled Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) expert with over 8 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing MERL systems for complex development programs.

He holds a master’s degree in monitoring and Evaluation from the Open University of Tanzania (OUT) and bachelor’s degree in Reginal Development Planning from the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP).

His expertise spans quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including survey design, impact evaluations, and participatory monitoring approaches. John has led M&E frameworks for projects funded by DANIDA, NORAD, and KOICA ensuring data-driven decision-making and accountability. John is passionate about integrating learning into program cycles, promoting evidence-based decision making, and fostering adaptive management. He has worked across sectors including health, education, livelihoods, and governance.

Before joining FSDT, John served Good Neighbors International as M&E Officer and SOS Children’s Villages Tanzania as the Senior MERL officer. Currently, John serves as the Monitoring and Results Management Officer at FSDT responsible for implementing and managing monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure the effectiveness and impact of our programs and projects.
