Nicodemus Mkama
Mr. Nicodemus Mkama is the Director of Research, Policy and Planning of the Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA)., Tanzania.
Mr. Mkama has worked with the CMSA since 1997 and he is responsible for market development and spearheading policy development for the execution of the mission and business implementation strategy of the CMSA. He has participated actively in developing the Enterprise Growth Market (EGM) segment of the Dar salaam Stock Exchange( DSE) that caters for small, medium and startup companies that cannot meet the requirements of the Main Investment Market Segment (MIMS) of the DSE.
Mr. Mkama also worked with the Bank of Tanzania, Directorate of Banking Supervision for 8 years where he played a leading role in developing Banking Supervision Information System (BSIS) which comprise the Early Warming Module, Banking Supervision Application (BSA) for SADC Countries, Risk Based Supervision Framework, Risk Management Guidelines for Banks, etc. In addition, he worked as a Commercial Banker at Eurafrican Bank, a subsidiary of Belgolaise Bank, Brussels.
Mr. Mkama holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Master Degree in Business Administration (Finance) and is he is Certified Public Accountant (CPA) registered by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors Tanzania. Further, he is a certified trainer of International Financial Reporting Standards offered by the NBAA and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland; and trainer of the Securities Industry Certification Course offered by the CMSA and the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI), United Kingdom.
