The study investigated the financial sector ecosystem in Tanzania\, documenting trends\, opportunities\, constraints\, and drivers among financial sector actors in providing services and products to women and youth. The study took a Market Systems Development (MSD) approach to assess the supply side availability of suitable financial services and products for women and youth\, the financial sector rules and regulations and how they enable access to formal financial services. Further\, the study examined predominantly secondary demand-side data to understand constraints and preferences for women and youth. As such\, the study primarily focuses on the supply side\, regulatory and policy findings and triangulates them with the recent FinScope Tanzania 2023 and other secondary quantitative data. About the webinarThe webinar seeks to disseminate and analyse the findings from the study to inform the financial sector on the opportunities identified based on the findings\, and also to expand on the recommendations on what needs to be done to ensure that more women and youth benefit from regular use of formal financial services. Therefore\, through the webinar\, we hope to a accomplish the following: Disseminate the key findings from the study.Spark a discussion on whether our current financial solutions and policies/regulations are really serving women and youth based on the findings.Expand on actionable recommendations to financial service providers\, policymakers\, regulators\, and other stakeholders on what needs to be done to ensure that more women and youth are benefiting from using formal financial solutions. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speakers \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Dr. Peter Kingu \n \n Head of Policy\, SME Development\, and Inclusive Finance at FSDT \n \n Moderator \n \n \n \n \n \n Dr. Ramadhani Khalid Mndeme \n \n HoD Banking and Financial Services at IFM \n \n \n \n \n \n Christina John \n \n Senior Manager Fundraising (and Gender & Youth Expert) at CARE Tanzania \n \n \n \n \n \n Dr. Tobias Swai \n \n Senior Lecturer and HoD at Finance UDSM Business School \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Agenda \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Exploring Gender and Age Intentionality in Tanzania’s Financial Sector Ecosystem \n \n 21st June 2024 \n \n \n \n \n\n\nTime\nActivity\nResponsible\n\n\n2.00pm to 2.05pm\nWelcoming\nModerator\, FSDT\n\n\n2.05pm to 2.10pm\nOpening Remarks\nCEO\, FSDT\n\n\n2.10pm to 2.25pm\nKey findings presentation from the ecosystem analysis\nModerator\, FSDT\n\n\n2.25pm to 2.55pm\nPanel Discussion-Reflections on the findings-Opportunities and recommendations fo rthe financial sector\nAcademicians from IFM and UDSM; and a youth/gender expert from CARE International\n\n\n2.55pm to 3.10pm\nQ & A\nAudience\n\n\n3.10pm to 3.20pm\nWrapping up and way forward\nModerator\,FSDT
