Financial Literacy Strategy for Tanzania - an initiative of the Bank of Tanzania, implemented through the FSDT. FSDT held a stakeholders’ awareness workshop on financial literacy strategy on the 9th of June at Dar es Salaam International Conference Centre.

Financial literacy being a recent concept worldwide, the FSDT is also providing technical assistance to the process. This underscores the importance of this workshop in creating the necessary public understanding, which in turn is needed to help secure stakeholders’ commitment in the development and future implementation of the strategy.

The agenda included presentations by the consultants, at least two international experts explaining what is being done in the field of financial education in other countries and the way forward in developing a national strategy.

Workshop participants included a wide range of stakeholders from the public, private and NGO sectors, including representatives of relevant trade associations, education and training bodies, and the media.

Presentations from the workshop can be downloaded here.
